Feds Pounce on Student Dressed As a Ninja

ATHENS, Ga. (April 12) - Running through the University of Georgia campus as a ninja can elicit a prompt response from authorities, a UGA sophomore learned.

Federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm agents, on campus for a community training project, detained Jeremiah Ransom of Macon Tuesday as a "suspicious individual" when they spotted a masked figure darting near the Georgia Center.

Ransom told The Red & Black student newspaper that he had left a Wesley Foundation pirate vs. ninja event when he was snared by agents with guns drawn.

"It was surreal," Ransom said. "I was jogging from Wesley to Snelling (cafeteria) when I heard someone yell `freeze."' At first, he thought a friend was playing a joke.

University Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said Ransom was released as soon as he was found to have violated no laws.

Vanessa McLemore, the ATF special agent in charge, said agents thought something was amiss when they "noticed someone wearing a bandanna across the face and acting in a somewhat suspicious manner, peeping around the corner" then breaking into a run.

Williamson said Ransom was wearing black sweat pants and an athletic T-shirt with one red bandanna covering the bottom half of his face and another covering the top of his head.

Man Held as Terror Suspect Over Punk Song
LONDON (April 5) - British anti-terrorism detectives escorted a man from a plane after a taxi driver had earlier become suspicious when he started singing along to a track by punk band The Clash, police said on Wednesday.

Detectives halted the London-bound flight at Durham Tees Valley Airport in northern England and Harraj Mann, 24, was taken off.

The taxi driver had become worried on the way to the airport because Mann had been singing along to The Clash's 1979 anthem "London Calling," which features the lyrics "Now war is declared -- and battle come down" while other lines warn of a "meltdown expected."

Mann told British newspapers the taxi had been fitted with a music system which allowed him to plug in his MP3 player and he had been playing The Clash, Procol Harum, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles to the driver.

"He didn't like Led Zeppelin or The Clash but I don't think there was any need to tell the police," Mann told the Daily Mirror.

A Durham police spokeswoman said Mann had been released after questioning -- but had missed his flight.

"The report was made with the best of intentions and we wouldn't want to discourage people from contacting us with genuine concerns," she said.

Maybe you don't understand it, what keeps them awake at night
What goes through their little minds when you turn off the
Always having to say sorry tears are stained on the pillow
Like the light of the moon they can't be one
Can't exist without the son

Let's think clearly for a while
Can he shine without a smile?

Why am I alone with no one to be found?
Looks like they know what's best for me
Why doesn't anybody like me, I don't understand?
Guess I'll have to crawl inside and I don't know why
I'm sitting by myself, when the problem isn't mine

Been around the block a few times, been beat up by all his
Learning life is like a maze that never seems to end
Like an open book, blank pages left for only him to write
Life is short this chapter takes so long
Can't tell the right from the wrong

It's so hard for you to place
An expression on his face

Why am I alone with no one to be found?
Looks like they know what's best for me
Why doesn't anybody like me, I don't understand?
Guess I'll have to crawl inside and I don't know why
I'm sitting by myself, when the problem isn't mine

Why doesn't anybody like me, I don't understand
Why my friends and family left me
At six years old he won't be taught a meaning to this mess
He'll just have to take a guess, and make his own plan
And we'll never see the child that was forced to be a man

Lets see.... where to begin.

Matt, Carson and I headed home for our Thanksgiving weekends. We left Freeman around 9:30 and got to Jackson around 10:30. On the way to Collingswood, I definitely saw a sign that said "Turkey Swamp Park". Now you KNOW you want to go there. Got home around 12:30-ish and the dogs wouldn't leave me alone. Lucy ended up sleeping in my bed which was fine.

Apparently Ethan lives in my room now and forgot to turn the alarm off. It woke me up at 6:30 AM. So, I had a total of 4 hours of sleep. Went downstairs and Kristin started yelling at me for no reason at all. Happy birthday to me. I hung around the house all morning and finished making Crystal's scarf. At noon I went over to the High School and hung out in Eboch's room with him and Lisa. Good times. Didn't do much in the afternoon, had cake with the family and then we went over to Sterling for the football game. It was so cold and we ended up leaving at half time, but I hung out with Cait, Brad, Sara and Marion. It was fun.

Happy Thanksgiving. We had a lot of food. It was good. We ended up going to... um... some family's house for dessert. It was okay. I think that's about all I did on Thanksgiving....

Friday was a fun day. Mom, Ethan, Anna, Robert, Matt and I all went to see Rent at 12:45. It was okay.... I don't know... I just don't care for Chris Columbus as a director. I did cry when both Angel and Mimi died though. After Rent, we had the Henry's over for dinner. I really can't stand them, they're an obnoxious group of people. The tree lighting was at 7:00. I found Matt, Lisa, Jay & Danny and hung out with them. The Tree Lighting was definitely not up to par this year. I was highly disappointed, but afterwards we went back to the Benesch house. Lisa and Matt watched Indiana Jones while I hung out with Stevie, Kevin, Danny and Jay. Stevie and I made fun of everything and then realized no one understood what we were talking about, ha. We decided it was a college kid thing. *shrugs*

Um....... Saturday, Saturday..... Lets see.... I went somewhere with Mom, Ethan and Robert and then we went to Aldi's...... Then mom dropped Anna and I off at the mall. I got 2 new outfits for Christmas. Santa also bought me a new belt that I happened to thief from him. XD

Woke up early. Raked the front lawn. Graded some papers. Came back to school. Rachel, Danny, Goody and I all went to Charlie Brown's for dinner. It was yummy.

And now we're back to today. whooooooo.

Last night I said goodbye to Dan for good. I tried, very hard, but it wasn't working out and so I wished him the best of luck in all future endeavors. I have no regrets. I told him in September, if he wanted to keep me in his life, he would have to try very hard. He did not and therefore I left. His mother can believe that I used him all she likes, I know I didn't. I never did anything to hurt him, but for now, this has to be the way it is.

I am welcoming back the Danielle of last semester with open arms. For those of you who have yet to meet that Danielle, I apologize that you have not yet met her. This Danielle cares not what others think of her nor does she sit around crying all day every day. She is one of the most carefree, happy people that I know and I hope to resurrect that Danielle. To those of you who did know that Danielle, I apologize for your having to put up with the most recent one for so long.

Work will be replacing relationships in my life. I contacted my director from home last night and asked her for advice. Next summer I will be interning, no matter where it is. As long as I'm in the theatre doing actual work, I will be happy.

Today, Rachel declared war against me. I then proceeded to jump on her bed. This was shortly followed by a truce and a declaration of war created by us against room 717. YOU HEAR THE 717! WE'RE COMING AFTER YOU.

I had an excellent lunch with the kitty Cat and a nice dinner with Matthew and Carson. <3

Val told me last night she's applying to MSU for next year and Melissa applied for next semester. *dances*

In conclusion, I feel really good about myself today and the old Danielle will be reappearing very soon.

Yes, I'm finally excited about it.
